Christened

Finally found some time over the past three weeks to add decals, which can be a nightmare if the quality is poor, the setting liquids are a poor match with the decal paper, nasty interactions with paint, and so on. For the most part, the decals went on pretty well, with notable exceptions. Most of the decals from the kit were crap quality, so I used some but ditched 95% of them. After market decals were pretty good, going on with minimal issues. I did use a bunch from my stash to to outline the thrusters and phaser banks and other detail, the main objective is logical placement of warning stripes and adding splashes of color to break up the metallic base. I still have a few minor decals to apply, but otherwise the next step is a gloss coat, followed by a matte coat and weathering. The model will ultimately be mounted on a wooden base connected by a turned brass mount.
