Completed in 2024, this is a 1/48 scale model of the fictional Moon shuttle depicted in the Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The kit is from Moebius. In this case, however, I significantly altered the kit to reflect a medical version, since the vehicle shown in the film is a boring grey color. Since it is fictional anyway, what difference does it make to mess around with the design and colors? The ball shape of the model is deceptively simply: you can imagine two halfs of a sphere coming together at the end; alas, the fit was terrible and making the halves come together was very stressful. The model almost made it into space with a firm kick due to the frustration!
