CVN-80 Enterprise Forward Hangar Bay Progress
I made a bit more progress on the hangar during the past two weeks. Taking a break from little airplanes and tiny crewmembers, the focus has been on the ceiling of the forward hangar bay. It isn’t quite done yet as I need to add the attachment posts used during the transfer of cargo while at sea, but this is a minor detail. The ceiling ended up being very tedious with a good amount of trial and error but ultimately satisfying (I am slightly disappointed by the thickness of the truss system used to store tanks, but I can live with it - the idea of redoing them is not at all appealing). I took considerable artistic license with this element - nothing about it is accurate. I do think the end result is sufficiently “busy”, which is my primary objective for the hangar deck. When it is lit up, it should look like a hive of activity…
